Lauren Roman’s passion for women's ministry is rooted in a powerful personal testimony. After growing up as a church-choir singing, overachieving, perfectionistic people-pleaser, she began her professional acting career at just 19 with a 3-year role as "Laura Kirk English" on the ABC daytime drama All My Children. Everything seemed perfect - but behind the scenes, it was a different story. Lauren suffered from an eating disorder and depression, triggered by the pressures of the entertainment industry, but rooted in her own guilt and self-condemnation over an abortion at age 18.
After nearly 10 years of struggling, Lauren finally found forgiveness and freedom through a post-abortion Bible study at a Pregnancy Resource Center in Los Angeles. Lauren discovered a newfound purpose to share the Truth of Galatians 5:1 freedom and became a fervent advocate and fundraiser for Pregnancy Centers.
This Galatians 5:1 mission also called her into women's ministry, speaking and singing for various events, retreats and conferences. Lauren is determined to help set girls and women free from not only the chains of abortion, sexual regret and food/body image issues, but also from perfectionism, addiction, people-pleasing, busy-ness, overachieving, low self-esteem, and anything else that prevents them from having the abundant life Jesus died for us to have! John 10:10 is another key scripture that drives her personal mission to encourage others.
The dramatic flair and comedic skills Lauren has honed throughout her acting career have created a fresh voice: an energetic and engaging young woman, transparently sharing her own testimony and using it to serve others and save lives. As an accomplished singer and worship leader, Lauren also weaves music into her messages to reach listeners’ hearts and minds in a profound way.
As part of her music ministry, Lauren independently released Songs of Hope and Healing, a collection of songs dedicated to anyone on a recovery journey. A vital resource for post-abortion programs and PRCs, the project features Child of My Heart, the impassioned song of a mother singing to her unborn child in Heaven. Now based in Nashville TN, Lauren enjoys acting in the Southeastern regional scene - she was most recently seen in the primetime drama Nashville and the Christian film Grace Unplugged. But her greatest joy and fulfillment is found working with PRCs and women's ministries. Lauren’s unforgettable beauty-from-ashes story is both an inspiration and a stirring call to action for us all.
